Operations Assistant – Ruskin, FL

Position Summary

The primary role of the Operations Assistant is to assist administration, faculty and staff with weekly and long-term projects that support seamless operations of the Ruskin Campus (between Academics, Enrollment, Facilities, and Student Services). Projects may vary based on the need but will consist of the following:

1 Tracking and maintaining academic and non-academic inventory for the Ruskin campus, including but not limited to setting up and maintaining storage rooms, classrooms, labs, and student spaces, as well as restocking the school store, and physically moving inventory throughout buildings, and working for and alongside faculty, staff, and other student employees to fulfill these duties.

2 Supporting campus events through logistics (rearrangement of furniture and space, organization of signage, IT support, guest registration and activity promotion). Evening and weekend hours may be required.

3 Monitoring guest arrivals at the front desk to support logistics (parking pass, communications to faculty and/or staff of arrival, and guide tours).

4 Support campus delivery arrivals and mailings.

5 Assisting the on-site IT Director with copier restocking and classroom technology and software support as needed.

6 Assisting the on-site Admissions team with support as needed.

7 Assisting academic departments with various administrative tasks (copies, filing, mailings, etc.).

8 Café support during peak hours as needed.

9 Light cleaning throughout the semester and support of deep cleaning projects as needed.

10 Other tasks, duties and projects may be assigned as needed.

11 Embodying the Gannon Mission and GU+ standards.

Required Qualifications •Enrolled full-time student at Gannon University in Ruskin, FL.

•Remain in good academic standing.

•Highly organized and detail oriented.

•Experience must include use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of standard office equipment such as copy machine/printer.

•Able to quickly learn and use new programs and software.

•Leadership skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills, working in a team atmosphere, and professionalism.

•Individual must be able to work with a diverse population that includes students, faculty, and staff.

•Must be able to work independently without direct supervision on day-to-day tasks and be able to take initiative.

•Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.

Preferred Qualifications Remain in good academic standing.Previous college employee experience in customer service, project management, alongside administration, faculty and students Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry weight, possibly up to 50lbs unassisted.Ability to walk, stand, and move about for approximately 2-8 hours; without access to a chair.Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Ability to climb (stairs/ladders) or balance.Ability to walk around building and potentially across campus.Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, such as sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.Meet the physical demands associated with a busy office and University environment.
