Essential functions include :
The Specialty Pharmacy Technician is responsible for processing, preparation, and filling of specialty prescriptions Perform non-sterile compounding and repackaging Answer and screen telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate Use point-of-sale to support customer service needs Support shipping of specialty medications by preparing supplies and ensuring ice packs are re-stocked Package, ship and track all packages to ensure they are delivered to the appropriate address and within set timeframes for medication integrity Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and software Package, ship and track all packages to ensure they are delivered to the appropriate address and within set timeframes for medication integrity Process prescriptions in a timely order and manner so as to best take care of patient needs Receives and accurately transcribes orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist Utilize EPIC/Patient Management system to review and process prescription information Thoroughly document patient encounter(s) via Epic/Patient Management system to meet accreditation standards Answer and screen telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate Assists with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions Purchasing duties and support inventory managementWhy Novant Health?
