This position is for 2nd shift - 2:30pm - 11:00pmPosition Summary:

Set-up and operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts to the customers specifications and satisfaction while maintaining the machines by applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.

Essential Functions:
  • Setting up new and repeat jobs in a variety of machines.
  • Measures, examines and tests completed units to detect defects, and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Complete all required shop paperwork accurately and neatly.
  • Read and interpret complex drawings and specifications.
  • Load and run parts.
  • Evaluate repeat jobs for opportunities to reduce time and motions.
  • Gather and assemble tooling for jobs.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality and Management on department and shop initiatives.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and maintains machines tools and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains and foreign material.

Candidate Requirements:
  • High School diploma
  • 5-10 years related manufacturing experience
  • Ability to set up and troubleshoot milling machines.
  • Experience with standard machining hand tools.
  • Ability to inspect parts and adjust the machine accordingly.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Possesses some computer skills and is able to learn new skills as needed
  • Must be able to read a dial caliper or equivalent and measure in thousands of an inch
  • General knowledge of Records Control, Statistical Tools, ISO Awareness, Safety, Right to Know and Employee Handbook.
  • Working knowledge of Document Control, Customer Prod/Equip, Product ID, Process Control, Inspection, Calibration, and Inspection Status.
