KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop methods, tooling and techniques to continuously reduce the time and effort involved in setting-up, changing over and operations of manufacturing equipment.

2 Modify manufacturing processes for safety improvement, quality improvement, cost reduction, or design changes.

3 Achieve financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of the budget, scheduling expenditures, managing project budgets and initiating corrective actions.

4 Manage capital projects, including: development of equipment specification, coordination of equipment runoffs, installation of equipment, and management of outside contractors.

5 Updates and maintains equipment drawings for production and equipment, including layouts, machine risk assessments.

6 Develop engineering solutions for repetitive equipment/process failures.

7 Assist in identification of departmental training requirements and may provide the training for improvement of skill levels.

8 Review, recommend and coordinate TPM, PM, Proactive Maintenance and Predictive

9 Maintenance Programs to prevent equipment failures and maximize machinery up-time.

10 Manage outside contractors involved in process/equipment improvement.

11 Work closely with all levels of the organization to improve upon manufacturing machinery and process improvements to design out failure modes

12 Lead Kaizen activities, and document results.

13 Knows significant environmental aspects of the job and the related operational controls.

14 Develop & maintain PFMEA’s & control plans (IQRM software), machine risk assessments

15 Troubleshoot cell equipment including pneumatics, hydrauluics, precision measurement, PLC’s (Allen Bradley & Seimens), robots (Yaskawa Motoman), vision systems (Keyence & Cognex) for both color and part measurement and feature detection as well as parameter adjustments.

16 Data based root cause analysis using six sigma and/or A3 methods.

17 Although time on the floor fluctuates greatly an average of ~50% minimum of the time should be expected to be on the floor implementing changes, reviewing equipment or preparing for upcoming projects.

18 Process design and launch from customer requirements through equipment, tooling acquisition. Execute PPAP, run at rates and other customer and internal requirements leading to a successful launch at SOP.
