MEAT PRODUCTION

Regular Part Time - $18.50-$21.50/HR

SHIFTS: Complete Open Availability - Weekends Required

Position Overview: Our aim is to provide the highest standards of customer service. The responsibilities of the Meat Production Clerk are many and varied, directed toward maintaining Oliver's Markets goals and values. The Meat Production Clerk represents the Meat Department to the customer, correctly answering questions, fulfilling orders, and pricing and wrapping orders. In addition, the Meat Production Clerk is responsible for supporting all department sanitation and producing ground meat, sausages, marinating beef, pork and chicken, use cry-o-vac (ROP) machine, cutting up chickens, cutting, filleting and maintaining seafood set and stocking prepackaged meats in deli grab & Go. They may also open or close the department using all standard procedures, as well as other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

Provide excellent and quality service to customers Learn preparation of specialty merchant products, i.e. sausage ready to cook products and cured meats Prepare and cutup primal cuts to use for all ground meat species Follow established weights and measures procedures (TARES) Wrap, weigh, label and price product for full service and self-service cases Use proper rotation in case Prepare Marinated Meats and seasoned burger patties by following recipes provided. Use Cry-O-Vac (ROP) for marinated meats. Maintain overall appearance and replenish ice in display case Maintain seafood cut and fillet fish supply in counter Be capable of explaining differing cooking techniques to customers Learn to cut sub primal meat for grinding and sausage making Perform other duties assigned Fill grab and go case Cutup, Tray and fill poultry for both self and full service Maintain department cleanliness Alert management when low on supplies Check dates on products to ensure quality and proper rotation Fill gourmet selections Properly check-in loads, checking off invoice and put loads away Maintain a clean and organized work area (floors, counters, worktables, etc.) Operate, clean and sanitize work equipment (band saw, grinders, tenderizer, slicer, etc.) Understand and explain attributes of the meats we sell

Skills & Qualifications:

An interest in meat and butchery Product knowledge (Meat, Poultry and Seafood) General meat department operational knowledge Great customer service and communication skills. Ability to work well with others Ability to multitask Basic knife skills Food Safe Certified Ability to use mechanical equipment

Position Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older
