As a Software Development Engineer with Amazon Redshift, you will have the opportunity to architect, design and implement automation infrastructure and tools for AWS Redshift at scale. You will contribute to the overall strategy by working on impactful internal infrastructure, tooling, and best practices that enable a quality product. You will work on the Redshift cloud platform to implement and enhance the dashboarding and metric gathering technologies that help us understand the current state of the production fleet. You will build out automation of critical operational functions that ensure that thousands of servers across all AWS regions worldwide are operating correctly and efficiently.

In this role you will have the growth opportunity to work on ambiguous problem spaces and enumerate design choices, trade-offs, and priorities. You demonstrate exceptional technical expertise and a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science. You are data and metric driven, and obsessively concerned about performance under resource constrained environments. You will mentor junior engineers, participate in defining our technical culture, and help to build a fast-growing team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
