Overview

Merrick & Company is seeking a GIS Analyst II with at least four (4) years of experience to join our growing team at our client project office in Tucker, GA.

Typical annual pay range for this position is $27 - $36 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Description

Work independently and as part of a project team to provide GIS support during the planning, design, and construction phases of transmission line and substation projects. Takes initiative to perform GIS data gathering, digitizing, conversion, and analysis. Applies cartographic standards to prepare maps and exhibits using GIS datasets. Employs GIS standards to maintain GIS database and project organization structures.

Required Experience

4-6 years’ experience with ESRI Desktop ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Pro), Microsoft Excel required. Bachelor’s or associate degree is required Knowledge of shapefiles, geodatabases, and able to work within an SDE environment. Knowledge of raster & vector data editing techniques Demonstrated understanding of advanced GIS concepts and methodologies such as drawing scale, spatial databases, definition queries, text and annotation placement, layer control, etc. Demonstration of understanding of cartographic methods and ability to follow cartographic standards as applicable. Familiarity with ArcGIS Online & mobile GIS applications like ESRI’s Field Maps & Survey 123 apps Ability to coordinate with field personnel for data collection with mobile GIS applications. Attention to detail, organized, customer focused. Able to work in a team and multitask. Able to provide direction to Technician staff for cartographic support on projects. Ability to work effectively on tight deadlines when necessary. Ability to track and report project progress for timesheet and budget reporting. Some field work will be required, accompany project teams to transmission line study areas and walking in proposed rights-of-way to collect GPS location. GIS Experience with Utility Strongly Preferred

Physical and Requirements

Able to spend extended periods of time working at desktop computer. Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
