Job Description:

Vali Inc has an opportunity for Woodworker to support the APS-03 program across the site and build necessary projects as required by the customer. The workshop will be responsible to operate on short time frames to execute no notice missions, supporting the ship of materials.

Responsibilities:

• Test wood samples for moisture content and other physical properties to ensure suitability for product use.
• Operate a variety of machines, including saws, shapers, sanders, routers, planers, and joiners to cut wood materials into usable pieces.
• Measure materials, mark cutting placements, and incorporate other features based on blueprints or verbal instructions.
• Create design sketches to help customers or management visualize the final product before construction begins.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations and using appropriate safety equipment.
• Cut and craft boards, cabinets, doors, staircases, window frames, molding, and other wood products according to specifications.
• Repair damaged wood items by replacing broken pieces or sanding scratches off surfaces.
• Sand and stain wood surfaces, applying protective coatings like varnish or lacquer.
• Measure and cut wood to specified lengths using various power tools.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain local base access.
• Possession of a valid State Driver's License.
• Proven experience in a woodworking environment.
• Working knowledge of power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in woodworking.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and ensure completion of all tasks involved.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand 2 to 3 hours per day.
• Capable of walking between 4 to 5 hours per day.
• Ability to lift 35lbs to 50lbs periodically.
• Comfortable with squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and climbing periodically.
• Willingness to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.

Desired Skills:

• Working knowledge of the Army class of supply system and National Stock numbers (NSN/NIIN).
• Experience in Material Management.
