SUMMARY:
This individual supervises the transportation safety auditor team. This includes ensuring the safety of the transportation department. This individual trains, monitors, and audits all the safety processes for the department. This individual spends most of their time at the airport near aircraft and other motor vehicles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Ensure that all Drivers and Ramp personnel perform their job in a safe manner in line with airport regulations and traffic laws.
· Coordinate new hire safety training and perform the safety training.
· Ensure all Drivers are properly trained before starting work.
· Track on spreadsheet and online the audit report and progress.
· Perform at least 17 ramp safety and ramp security audits per shift at the airport.
· Perform safety training for all new hires and ensure they are all properly trained before catering.
· Provide refresher training for current drivers and helpers.
· Provide corrective actions where compliance is not met repetitively.
· Perform other safety audits as needed.
· Respond to any incidents on the ramp and immediately conduct a full investigation and turn in all paperwork to the appropriate management staff.
· Conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicles.
· Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma preferred
· Must have a current and valid state-issued Driver License with safe driving record
· Prior experience working in food service preferred
· Previous experience in a compliance-enforcing type of role, such as safety, HR, auditing, or another similar role
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Must have a current and valid state-issued Driver License with safe driving record
· Strong communication skills with ability to communicate compassionately, clearly, and with assertiveness
· Ability in showing self-initiative and follow-through
· Detail-oriented and ability to see big picture
· Ability to pass all required airport security clearance
· Ability to read, write, and speak in English
· Understanding and ability to use and manage technological devices
· Must have good attendance records
· Ability to adapt to new operating procedures
· Must be aware of safety risks
· Ability to communicate issues and knowledge gaps
· Good knowledge of HACCP
· Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends (depending on assigned shift) and work overtime when required
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
