Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership, training and technical assistance to charter school campuses for the dual language program and other services as assigned. Assist educational personnel to enhance the performance of Emergent Bilingual (EB) students. Provide coaching and support to ESL classroom teachers grades 6 - 12 to ensure the continuous development of instructional skills. Evaluate the performance of assigned ESL classroom teachers.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Master's degree from accredited university in Educational Leadership with Bilingual Education endorsement

Valid Texas teaching certificate with bilingual or ESL certificate required

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of bilingual or ESL teaching experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation in dual language and bilingual education Knowledge of the one-way dual language program Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of TAPR, ESSA and RDA Working knowledge of TEKS, ELPS, and CCRS Working knowledge of DMAC Experience with state assessments, STAAR and TELPAS Knowledge of research on effective teaching and methodology as it applies to Emergent Bilinguals Knowledge of scientifically based teaching/learning practices for diverse learners Experience in curriculum development and evaluation in the dual language/bilingual setting Experience in providing coaching to core content teachers Knowledge of current instructional coaching/mentoring models Working knowledge of LPAC Working knowledge of LAS Links Working knowledge of the Home Language Survey Working knowledge of SIOP Strategies Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
