Job Description
  • Support internal and external financial reporting processes in accordance with GAAP and/or other local regulatory requirements
  • Supervise period-end close activities including tracking tasks & processes, preparing & reviewing journal entries, and resolving unexpected issues
  • Exercise judgment and conduct analysis to identify and help solve issues
  • Coordinate with international team members and third-party service providers to consolidate the financial results of international entities that maintain their accounts and records outside of SAP
  • Present and review financial results with management to ensure variances are documented and understood
  • Perform general accounting activities in SAP as well as identify and troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
  • Review and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure balances are complete and accurate
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and controls to maintain SOX compliance
  • Effectively communicate information impacting various groups within the organization (tax, legal, HR, etc.)
  • Understand IFRS and other local accounting standards and reconcile differences with U.S. GAAP
  • Effectively work in a team environment both within and outside of assigned area of responsibility
  • Participate in special projects, such as FASB updates, business partner requests, business combinations, and systems conversions
  • Oversee the completion of statutory audits and file statutory financial statements with the respective authorities
  • Assist with the preparation of annual income tax returns prepared by outside accounting firms
  • Review and approve non-income tax filings such as withholding tax returns and VAT/GST returns on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis as provided by local laws
  • Record entries to account for international joint ventures in the Company’s consolidated financial statements
  • Monitor cash balances at foreign banks to ensure ability to meet financial obligations and execute tax strategies
  • Help compile and prepare departmental budgets and forecasts
  • Continuously identify and execute process improvements

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of business experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting required
  • Experience with a public accounting firm preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team
  • Ability to multi-task and operate effectively under strict deadlines
  • Capable of researching and resolving complex accounting issues and topics
  • Skilled at implementing new systems and solutioning system issues
  • SAP system experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
