Job Summary
This position will lead the development and implementation of the college’s esports program, which includes club participation and competitive play. This is a new program for the college, and the Esports Program Analyst will work with the Director of Student Life to develop a strategic direction and long-term plan. Directs all aspects and components of the esports program, including practice, training, and competition. Provides oversight and technical support in the esports lab and virtual spaces. Coordinates programming, events, and open play for students at large and club members. Maintains current knowledge of technology, equipment, and systems. Represent esports to external groups as appropriate to develop partnerships and sponsorships to support the program. Contributes to the college’s student retention and success strategies through student engagement, outreach, and learning opportunities
Essential Functions
40% - Coordinates and develops Esports program opportunities, including competitive and recreational play, tournaments, special events, and daily Esports lab operations. Provide supervision and work direction for Esports Lab Technicians, including management of the Esports discord server, email, and social media accounts. Supports and advises on technology engagement tools for the Student Life and Leadership team.
20% - Responsible for implementing and maintaining retention strategies for students involved in Esports activities at CGCC. Collaborates with other CGCC departments to execute the strategies.
20% - Responsible for the recruitment, leadership, and coaching of Esports athletes in accordance with the mission and values at CGCC.
10% - Represent Esports programs by serving on district wide committees, (including the Maricopa Esports League (MCEL), and developing community partnerships to promote and grow the Esports program.
5% - Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or directly related field and four (4) years of related program management experience, preferably in an educational setting.
OR
Associates’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or directly related field and six (6) years of related program management experience, preferably in an educational setting.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) full-time equivalent years of related program management experience, preferably in an educational setting.
Desired Qualifications
1. Experience with event coordination, planning, and implementation.
2. Experience with Esports as a coach or student athlete.
3. Masters degree.
4. Experience working with or leading retention initiatives.
Special Working Conditions
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:
Some travel will be required.
