GTA and MRA are seeking a Billing Specialist for our corporate office in Abingdon, MD. The primary focus of this position is professional services billing. Position involves daily interaction with project managers, accountants, and accounting staff. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Billing Specialist Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Working within a defined billing timeline to ensure timely processing Handling high-volume billing for multiple locations Producing, reviewing, and finalizing billing and invoices Reviewing project contracts and ensuring billing compliance according to agreed-upon terms and conditions Setting up and maintaining client accounts in the billing system, including billing rates, payment terms, and contact information Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders, including project managers, accountants, and senior management, to ensure seamless billing processes Maintaining positive relationships with staff and clients Contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of billing functions

Billing Specialist Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of professional services billing experience in a large, multi-faceted company (engineering, law, or accounting firm) Experience with BST Global, Vision Deltek, Timberline, or Axium is a plus Strong problem-solving capability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies, handle complex billing scenarios, and address client inquiries and concerns Attention to detail is essential as the Billing Specialist must meticulously review and analyze project data, rates, and contract terms Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Flexibility in adapting to changing project requirements, evolving billing processes, and software systems
