JOB DESCRIPTION

Description:

The Mechanical Designer- Automotive is responsible for working with Stellantis Engineering and design studio in coordination also with our clients Mechanical Engineers (Shanghai) and Applications engineers (Troy MI) to complete the Tianma design interface to the vehicle and Class A styling.

Our client is a Tier 1 supplier they are getting awarded new programs from Stellantis and are needing extra design support In the Troy office there are 7 other team members. The design team is located in Shanghai, so this person will more so be supporting design changes, coordinating between the customer and the team in China.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

- 5+ years of UG NX10, NX11 or NX12 experience (At least one full rotation of design work following a project from conception to release phase)

- Class A design experience (Ex: Part of the Center Stack that is Viewable when installed)

- Experience working with either Instrument Clusters, Center Stack or HVAC control switch assemblies

- Experience with Stellantis Teamcenter --specifically able to baseline Math, release 3D math and 2D drawings (GD&T), support part audits with resident engineer

- Experience collaborating with OEM Studio/Styling group to capture design requirements

- Experience with packaging design criteria (compartment integration)

- Understanding of tooling impacts on the designed part (die vectors/draw, parting lines, graining)

-***Experience collaborating with Product Development groups located in Asia *** (Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea - to have an understanding of work cultures from Asia and ability to have meetings around the clock to support them)

- Experience participating in FMEA reviews and PDT meetings with customer

- MUST be eligible to get Stellantis TC badge.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with LCD assembles/Display Technology

- Experience with DES Sections / part criteria compliance (die vectors / draw requirements and parting lines) - Can be trained if candidate is strong in Teamcenter and UG.

- Experience with LCD assemblies

- Circuitry/connectors knowledge

- Design Studio experience
