We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill an opening for an Electrical Test Engineer at our Farmington Hills, MI location in the Mechatronics and Electrical Test Department.

The Mechatronics and Electronics Test department is responsible for the validation of Electrical & Electronic components/systems for Nissan North American produced vehicles. The department engages in both the digital and physical phases of vehicle development to ensure a quality and timely vehicle launch.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

Test Engineer in Electronics Reliability Department will perform vehicle/part level validation testing for electronic components (CAN network, Switches, Seat/Window/Power back door controllers, Harness, Alternator, Power distribution etc.). Responsible for planning, executing (including with technician support) and reporting appropriate electrical component validation activities. Collaborate with other Nissan employees and supplier representatives to gather pertinent information about the assigned component development.

Basic Requirements :

BSEE Superior project planning skills and attention to detail Ability to read electrical schematics and circuit diagrams Proficient with Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter, PC based diagnostic tools Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, and Vector CAN tools Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Project) Ability to travel to Nissan/suppliers facilities in USA, Mexico and Japan (~10%) Superior written and verbal communication skills Able to work in cross-functional & cross-cultural environment Familiarity with standard analysis tools (FMEA, FTA, etc.) preferred Experience with Electronic circuit analysis and troubleshooting is preferred
