Requirements:

Requires experience in acute care, ambulatory care or Emergency Medical Service setting.

And one year of recent experience in ONE of the following to be considered for hire:

CNA II EMT B, AEMT or EMT-P Enrolled in an accredited nursing school Previous experience as an ED Tech or in a comparable role (i.e. CMA, UAP, Acute Care of ambulatory setting).

Background/Expertise:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer phlebotomy skills and one year of recent experience in pre-hospital (EMS) or an emergency department or completion of one (1) year of nursing school within the last two (2) years is preferred. Ortho splinting experienced is also preferred. EMT-B, AEMT or EMT-P preferred. BLS from the American Heart Association required within 90 days.

Core Functions:

Perform duties as designated by the leadership team/ or Charge RN. Perform basic patient care duties: undress patients and place into gown, monitor vital signs and document in EPIC, assist with toileting needs, ambulating patients, etc. Prioritize a variety of patient care and multi-task within skill and unit maintenance assignments. Accurately document pertinent patient information using verbal, written and electronic communication according to ED policy procedures and standards and time frames. Function as a member of the care team, assisting in the care of all patients within area assignments. Perform EKGs on a regular basis. Provide 1:1 observations for patient safety in accordance with training. Assist in high pressure situations (i.e. code blue code 3 medic and trauma patients).
