Job Summary
The Lead Laboratory Medical Technologist performs laboratory bench work and assists the supervisor/manager with day-to-day operations where assigned; and may act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the regular supervisor or manager.
Responsibilities
Leading and instructing other Technologists and Technicians in the assignment of their duties, monitoring clinical performance and competency and providing training where necessary. Perform laboratory analysis following documented procedures. This includes performing PCR (polymerase chain reaction) based molecular assays, possesing basic knowledge of molecular biology and molecular technologies, and executing all tasks with attention to details.Minimum Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field of Science, preferably from an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology. 3 years' experience as a Technologist or Laboratory Technician in a clinical laboratory setting. ASCP certification in MB (Molecular Biology), MT, MLS, or MLT preferred.
Conditions of Employment
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
