Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Dual Enrollment Advisor on the Cumming campus. The Dual Enrollment (DE) Advisor advises and registers dual enrolled students on the Cumming and Online campuses. The DE Advisor processes appropriate forms in Georgia Tracs, adds and approves courses for Georgia Student Finance funding purposes, and assists with book acquisition. The Advisor establishes relationships with and provides timely information regarding dual enrollment policies and procedures to high school counselors, prospective students, and parents, including making presentations at off-campus high school events. The Dual Enrollment Advisor helps develop and presents at dual enrollment orientations and an annual high school counselor summit. Some travel required; some evening and weekend work required. 

Responsibilities

Advises and registers DE students. Processes appropriate DE forms, adds and approves courses for GSFC funding purposes, and assists with student book acquisition. Establishes relationships and provides timely and accurate information to high school counselors, prospective students, and parents, including off-campus presentations at high school events. Helps to develop and presents at DE orientations and an annual high school counselor summit. Assists the Assistant Director for Dual Enrollment with data reporting. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must demonstrate a strong background as a team player. Must demonstrate a strong background in working with a diverse student population. Excellent communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision to manage multiple tasks and prioritize duties. Must have a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain exemplary working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and high school counselors.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required. One year of academic advising, student affairs, enrollment management, or counseling experience. Computer experience with Microsoft Office required

Preferred Qualifications

BANNER experience preferred.  Experience with GAfutures and GSFC funding policies preferred.  Experience with dual enrollment policies and procedures for high school and home schooled students preferred.
