Job Title: CT Technologist Department: Diagnostic Imaging Hours: 24 hours, 3rd shift Daily hours: 8 Weekends: As needed JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the radiologist, DI Administration and/or Lead CT Technologist, performs professional duties which involve a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for CT scans. Assist physicians in selection of practical application and technical factors. ESSENTIALS RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs a variety of CT exams related to the field, including invasive procedures and IV insertion.
  • Explain the procedure to the patient.
  • Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis of disease.
  • Administer prescribed contrast media according to established guidelines.
  • Assist in interventional CT exams.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Computer skills: Mainframe system entry, Teleradiology system.
  • High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • Completed two years of an approved Radiological Technology Program required.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists required.
  • A current license in the State of Connecticut is required.
  • CT Registered and hold a current State of Connecticut CT License.
  • Maintaining appropriate CEU's to meet ARRT guidelines is required.
  • CPR - Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Approved contrast injection training according to the D.I. Medical Director is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year practical experience performing related duties as a CT technologist including IV insertion is preferred.
