POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Conducts operational testing of staff and coaches for improvement Manages scheduling of the Dispatch staff so that NOC (Network Operating Center) overtime is managed in a cost effective manner Coordinates movement with connecting carriers so that resources can be managed or shared Ensures the company velocity goals are achieved Measures hours-of-service requirements and secures delays when necessary Ensures MCS (Management Control System) is updated with any exception data for train make-up or car scheduling Manages UP (Union Pacific) and BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) transit time on joint tracks to ensure benchmarks are achieved Manages and distributes locomotives when needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job-related major field of study Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to accommodate shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays 2 years dispatch/ operations center experience preferred Previous experience working for a railroad preferred
