Die Assembly Technician

As a Die Assembly Technician at Oberg Industries, you will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting die components to ensure optimal performance in the production process. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of die components and their functions. This role is a full-time, daylight shift position working at our Oberg Freeport, PA facility reporting to the Die Assembly Manager and working in collaboration with various departments such as Engineering, Sales, Quotations, Grinding, Tool Room, and Die Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
Assembly and Disassembly: Assemble and disassemble die components according to specifications.Ensure all parts fit correctly and are in proper working order.Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to complete tasks.Troubleshoot and repair die components as needed.Replace worn or damaged parts to maintain optimal functionality. Inspection and Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.Inspect die components for defects or damage.Perform quality checks to ensure die components meet specified tolerances and standards. Technical Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Operate machinery and equipment used in the die assembly process such as a surface grinder, drill press, belt sander, etc. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Adhere to company policies and procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work area. Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.Participate in training and development programs to stay current with industry trends and technologies.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 5-10 years practical experience required. Surface grinding and stamping press experience preferred. Must have successfully completed Apprenticeship program or equivalent experience preferred. Experience in part fixturing and inspection preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints. Must possess knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication. Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 35 pounds with control and unassisted). Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, bending, stopping, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks. Must be able to raise arms above shoulders, use hands to feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as, earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.Benefits & Perks:
