We're looking for a Health Information Management Technician to become a part of our team

Our HIM Techs are part of the frontline staff that our patients and physicians interact with. We're looking for a friendly, customer service-oriented individual who has a high attention to detail and enjoys working with people.

HIM Techs perform the following duties:

Processes requests for information via mail and fax verifying all of the proper elements are present for a proper release according to the HIPAA Privacy Rule Performs front desk receptionist duties by assisting all customers with requests as well as answering the medical records request line and fulfilling telephone requests. Comparing outpatient charts against daily outpatient report for outpatient services i.e. lab, radiology, pulmonary, physical therapy, etc. locating the charts that have not arrived in the medical record department. Ensuring each page has two patient identifiers on them and scanning each visit individually into the patient’s electronic medical record by creating a bar coded separator sheet for that patient visit. Process any loose paperwork that has been separated from the original patient’s chart by preparing it in the same fashion as listed above.

Qualifications Needed:

Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent

Skills: Ability to work on computers, good personal communication skills, ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians, ability to work independently, dependable, has great customer service. Experience with medical terminology, HIPAA Training or medical insurance is preferred.
