Senior Welder

Fuse metal objects utilizing gas or electrical welding procedures for final or preliminary fabrication operations.

Responsibilities

• Produces TDW parts in accordance with blueprint specifications, utilizing a variety of machines, including, but not limited to, Mig, Tig, Fluxcore and Sub Arc welding machines, torches, shape cutters, and overhead cranes,
• Produces parts from raw materials in round or flat form, from finished or partially finished components like filler wire, rod and braze materials, and cutting and shielding gases,
• Works from blueprints, WPS manuals, sketches, and oral instructions to plan work,
• Secures necessary jigs and fixtures, filler rods and/or wire to properly perform welding operations on a variety of metals and alloys,
• Makes stringer or root passes, fillers, and covers, etc.,
• Utilizes standard welding machines to make x-ray quality welds using a variety of welding processes from a variety of positions,
• De-seams, brushes, cleans, and grinds,
• Performs minor repairs of and adjustments to equipment,
• Maintains safe, clean and orderly work space;
• Champions continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Experience

• High School Diploma required,
• 5 years of experience with X-Ray quality welding, utilizing , Mig, Tig, Fluxcore and Sub Arc welding machine procedures required,
• Ability to read blueprints and make fit-ups to blueprint tolerances,
• Medium to heavy lifting required (up to 50 pounds), in compliance with TDW Safety Regulations.
