Subject to Grant Funding?: No Essential Job Functions: 1. Teaches the equivalent of eight course sections per year in the Department of Public Health.
2. Designs curriculum and/or program development, as assigned.
3. Selects teaching and evaluation strategies appropriate to students.
4. Arranges classes to correspond with curriculum, program, and course outcomes.
5. Provides perspectives that include a respect for diverse views; responds to student inquiries.
6. Provides and maintains office hours for student mentoring, tutoring, remediation, and consultation.
7. Participates in department, college, and University committees and meetings.
8. Maintains the mission of the college by demonstrating flexibility in the scheduling of courses, supervision, or committee meetings.
9. Participates in state and/or local community service that is a recognized form of career development.
10. Advises students enrolled in the Department of Public Health
11. Participates in student recruitment activities
12. Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Marginal Job Functions: 1. Maintains a personal professional development plan, which may include research and/or other creative activities, to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
2. Displays professional behavior and ethics in all aspects of job performance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Adaptability and willingness to teach courses and/or perform special duties as assigned.
2. Ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods including lecture, discussion, collaborative learning, and individualized instruction.
3. Ability to effectively present information to students, public groups, or professional organizations in the English language.
4. Ability to demonstrate and teach core functions of public health, including assessment, policy development, and assurance.
5. Ability to understand, apply, and teach core areas of public health education, including epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, and social and behavioral health sciences.
6. Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
7. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing using the English language.
9. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and support staff at all levels.
10. Adaptability and willingness to teach courses and/or perform special duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Required Education: Terminal Degree (Highest degree in field of study) Major (if required): Required Experience: 1. Five (5) years of related experience and/or training, including research or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
