Description

Manufacture the drug substance using chemical processes according to the provided manufacturing documentation. Also performs maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Document that manufacturing operations are performed correctly in accordance with the company's quality system and GMP.

Essential Functions

• Using computers to monitor equipment status, input data.
• Handling hazardous materials in manufacturing plants, such as acids, alkalis, and other chemicals
• Performing routine checks of equipment such as pressure gauges, temperature gauges, or flow meters to ensure that they are operating properly.
• Monitoring production processes to ensure that they are running smoothly and efficiently.
• Cleaning work areas, equipment, and machinery using solvents, detergents.
• Conducting chemical reactions in reaction vessels using equipment such as reactors, condensers, separators, evaporators, filters, etc.
• Conducting purifications using column chromatography systems or a crystallization system.
• Maintaining inventory of chemicals used during manufacturing processes and ordering supplies as needed.
• Collect samples for testing based on requests from QC.

Minimum Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills:

• Must have at least a high school diploma and have received education in the field of chemistry or chemical engineering.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical, chemical or other manufacturing plant is preferred. Knowledge of GMP is also preferred.

Organizational Relationship/Scope:
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. 

This position will have achieved more advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic ability related to product performance and may be assigned other more advanced job tasks.

This role will require cross functional relationships with the Quality Control group as required.
