Job Description

The Add On Library team is building the next generation of POS by introducing the Add Ons ecosystem for all verticals of Point of Sale. With this ecosystem, we are empowering merchants to tailor their point of sale to the needs of their business, as well as creating a foundation for third-party developers to incorporate unique value propositions into Point of Sale easily and securely. These first & third-party add-ons will allow us to scale our Point of Sale applications to a wide variety of businesses and unlock powerful new tools for our merchants. You'll work with our product, design and engineering team to bring these ideas to life

As an iOS Engineer within the Add On Library, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Add On Library experience and platform on iOS. You will have direct responsibility for launching critical new features that help our merchants manage their add-on experience and support the future of our add-on platform. As a senior member of the team you will also advocate for making continuous investments in developer productivity and code quality along with feature delivery.

You will:

  • Build and test iOS software with complex server, network and hardware interactions
  • Craft intuitive UI that delights our customers with its ease of use
  • Work with a world-class team of experienced and dedicated engineers, product managers, and designers
  • Deliver features to our growing base of subscribers, shipped at a rapid cadence
  • Be a part of creating an innovative product that brings superpowers to sellers
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other iOS engineers

Qualifications

You Have: 

  • 6+ years of iOS development experience, and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals
  • An academic attitude towards software development practices
  • Commitment to customer experience and product quality
  • Eagerness to share your own ideas, and openness to those of others
  • A record of self-directed side projects, research, or open source contributions are a plus


Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $198,000 - USD $297,000
Zone B: USD $188,100 - USD $282,100
Zone C: USD $178,200 - USD $267,400
Zone D: USD $168,300 - USD $252,500
