  • Counseling prospective and current students regarding the financial aid and scholarship process
  • Tracking and verification of student files
  • Monitoring account balances and collecting student accounts receivable
  • Maintaining compliance with government and university policies
  • Packaging of new and returning student award letters
  • Processing student loans
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with students
  • Other duties as required
Skills:
  • Strong computer skills are required. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products is especially helpful
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with students, parents, high school counselors, fellow employees, college administrators, and other constituents of the University
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills, detail oriented, and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required
  • The ability to learn, understand and stay in compliance with federal regulations for financial aid.
Employee competencies will be measured by:
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) monthly goals
  • Awarding of new and returning students’ financial aid
  • Customer satisfaction
In connection with the requirements of this position, there is no vacation allowed the first week before or after the first day of class for the fall and spring semester.
