KIPP Oklahoma currently educates over 1,000 students and supports hundreds of alumni. Today, the KIPP Oklahoma network consists of KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools (grades 5th – 12th) and KIPP OKC Public Schools (grades PreK - 1st and 5th – 8th). KIPP OKC Public Schools is growing one grade per year until they are a full PreK – 8th grade program.

Job Description

Every member of the Team & Family at KIPP OKC College Prep plays a critical role in ensuring our students have the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose - college, career and beyond. As a KIPP OKC Teacher Assistant, your core responsibilities include:

1. Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher working with individual students or small groups.

2. Assist with classroom management creating an environment that is appropriate for learning.

3. Assists teacher with the planning, preparation and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students or groups.

The working hours for this position are 7:30am - 5:00pm on school days, with some required events outside of normal school hours. These events include Parent/Teacher Conferences, Open House, Meet the Teacher, Curriculum Nights, Parent Town Halls, Enrollment Events.

Qualifications

Education and Knowledge:

High School Diploma Must be considered Highly Qualified based on NCLB requirements. This can be verified by one of the followingAn Associate’s degree48 college hoursMeet a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a formal state or local assessment the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instructing reading, writing and math.

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills Experience collaborating with team members Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities Proven written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children

Responsiveness: Follow-up and follow-through with students, families, and faculty members is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $30,000 and it is a non-exempt, 10-month position. In addition to a competitive salary scale, KIPP Oklahoma provides a generous benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurances and other ancillary benefits.
