Seniority Unit Terms of Appointment Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly Position Pension Eligibility Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Prefer science majors.  Must possess good organization and documentation skills and must demonstrate good communication skills in English.  Experience in working with transgenic mouse colonies and basic molecular and cell biology techniques such as culturing mammalian cells, PCR, plasmid preparations, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot analysis are necessary.  In addition, should able to do routine lab works including preparing culture medium and solutions.  Must be able to quickly learn new techniques and work independently, with careful attention to detail.  Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment  Must be available to work flexible hours on short notice, including overtime and some weekends and holidays. Must be willing to work with radioactive materials.   This position involves prolonged standing, walking and sitting, as well as use of research instruments. Some stooping, reaching, climbing and bending. Occasional lifting of 20 pounds to a height of 6½ feet. Hearing and speech capabilities necessary to communicate with other researchers and staff in person, on the telephone and by e-mail. Vision capable of viewing computer monitors, charts, forms, text and numbers for prolonged periods.  Special Conditions
