OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provide Surveying, and technical support services to underground and surface operations. Incumbent will provide supervision to four (4) surveyor and be responsible for installation and advancement of line sites for continuous mining sections and will provide location of various mine utilities such as belts, monorail spots, and centerline for belt installation.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Routine placement and checking of surveying sight for underground mining operations
  • Preparing and maintaining mine maps, civil, electrical and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Preparing monthly volumetric calculations and reports of mined areas and stockpiled tonnages
  • Conducting surface surveying activities, as required. This work will include subsidence surveys, property/permit area boundary descriptions, support of exploration activities and targeting for aerial surveys

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-year Technical degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in standard surveying principles/practices, calculations and note reduction
  • Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel over uneven surfaces, climb/descend ladders, and lift/carry up to 50 lb. objects

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4-year Technical degree of equivalent work experience
  • Professional Surveying License (PLS)
