Location: Onsite - Aventura, FL (1 day a week remote)
The Position:
WM Partners is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant. We seek a candidate who is a self-starter with an appetite to learn, willingness to roll up their sleeves, and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of alternatives investments accounting and reporting experience (preferably private equity fund accounting and/or public accounting). The candidate will have the opportunity to assist with fund accounting for existing and new fund vehicles and work with the Controller and senior management as well as fund administrators, external auditors, tax accountants, bank relationships and legal teams. The Fund Accountant will assist the Controller in ensuring financial data is accurate and that reporting deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
Review financial statement workpapers prepared by fund administrator Assist in monthly and annual close process for management company Provide support to auditors and tax accountants Prepare draft calculations of management fees Assist with/respond to investor requests Assist with capital calls and distributions Input invoices for payment for weekly AP and initiate wires Review expense reimbursements Prepare monthly invoices for intercompany reimbursements Reconcile cash on a weekly basisRequirements
BSBA in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of public accounting and/or fund accounting experience Ability to review and prepare financial statements Strong communication skills Experience using QuickBooks (preferred) Skilled in Excel (vlookup/sumifs/pivot tables) Ability to process information with speed, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail CPA license (nice to have)Benefits
