JOB DESCRIPTION

Description:

Will be performing maintenance and calibration of equipment on site. They run mostly inline instrumentation to test samples from the boilers. NOT much benchtop chemistry work. They will be working between 2 different areas: The water treatment plant and waste water treatment area. Responsible for weekly chlorination and water chemistry for cooling towers. Also need to be handy as they will be monitoring chemical pumps for failure and may need to be changed out. Also will be changing out/repairing leaky valves, pumps and tubing in the lab.

There is a lot of walking between various areas, maintaining equipment and changing out analyzers. Also there is some minimal computer work: regarding data collected from the analyzers.

Operate and maintain a wastewater treatment and water treatment plants Perform grab sample water test to verify pH, turbidity, and chlorine content. Maintain equipment such as pH probes, chlorine analyzers, silica analyzers, and sodium analyzers.

• Maintain accurate records and insured instrumentation readings were accurate.

•Follow compliance guidelines for environmental, health and safety regulations.

•Learn how to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment ranging from tabletop

pH probes to water treatment plant feed pumps.

Requirements:

BA in chemistry OR BA in Biology or Environmental Sciences with 15 semester hour of Chemistry courses

Skills:

Chemical, Microsoft office, testing, NPDES, Water, PH testing, epa regulations
