The College of Social Sciences invites applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Education requiring expertise in the field of special education. This is a full-time, nine-month, faculty position beginning in the Spring of 2024 or Fall of 2024.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Lourdes University/Tiffin University partnership. Courses will be within the special education major as well as other education courses at Tiffin University. Faculty load is 4 courses per semester in face-to-face format. This position requires a dynamic classroom presence and high levels of knowledge in multimodal teaching, differentiated instruction, and the IEP process. Additional faculty responsibilities include; student recruitment and retention efforts, curriculum development, assessment, supervision of internships and/or capstone projects, academic advising and participation in a minimum of one faculty and/or university committee.

The position requires curricular leadership in special education. The candidate will be required to deliver classroom instruction to ensure students are prepared as teachers with best practices and industry standards. The candidate will be required to teach a range of courses in the special education and education major as well as identify and implement potential internships.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with first generation students in the areas of academics and career development. Requirements

• Master’s Degree in special education, Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred

• Professional experience in early childhood special education

• Teaching experience and varied scholarly activity will be given preference

• Be currently eligible for employment in the United States
