About the role:

The role of the Operations Compliance Auditor entails assessing the food safety and hygiene standards attained at all operational sites in accordance with Ocado's Quality Management System policies and procedures. Your responsibilities include conducting audits and assessments of Ocado operations and affiliated service providers according to a designated timetable and as per business needs. As the primary contact for audit inquiries, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.

You will be:

As a Compliance Auditor, you will need to 

Audit and manage the internal audit program and operating platform. Organise and prioritise workload to meet audit schedules and company requirements. Schedule and manage audit appointments, including ad-hoc requests. Generate clear audit reports with findings, recommendations, and next steps. Identify and categorise risks and non-conformances by severity. Lead opening and closing meetings with stakeholders. Drive action on poor audit performance and foster continuous improvement. Provide compliance guidance and coaching to stakeholders. Ensure effective root cause analysis and timely corrective actions. Address non-conformances promptly and follow up periodically. Collaborate with the Food Technology Lead to review trends and identify improvement opportunities. Use audit data to identify trends and develop action-oriented reports. Present audit findings and recommendations regularly with action plans. Update and create audit templates and documents periodically. Conduct HACCP procedural gap analysis and enhance company standards. Audit catering facilities, service providers, and pest control services. Support new site readiness evaluations. Monitor and follow up on risks from service provider data. Contribute to stakeholder and partner meetings, projects, and environmental sampling. Assist with third-party accreditation gap analysis. Participate in on-call duties and provide peak seasonal operational support. Deputise for colleagues as needed.

About you:

The ideal candidate will possess a Level 4 HACCP & Food Safety certification, a Lead Auditor qualification, and either a degree in Food Science/Technology or three years of experience in a food safety audit role. They should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to promote a food safety culture. Flexibility and availability to travel and adapt to changing business needs are essential. Experience in coaching operational staff on food safety requirements and the ability to evaluate these requirements in various operational environments is crucial. The candidate must be highly organised, self-motivated, and focused on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
