Summary and Scope of Position:The Ursinus College Athletic department has an immediate opening for Head Men’s Soccer Coach. This is a full-time, exempt position. The candidate will be responsible for the administration and organization of a successful program that competes in the Centennial Conference and adheres to all NCAA Division III rules. Specific Responsibilities:The Head Coach of the Men’s soccer program at Ursinus will be responsible for the following job duties:Prepare, schedule and organize daily practice sessions, preparation for competition and off-season trainingHire, supervise, and evaluate Assistant Coaches and/or Volunteer CoachesOrganize, direct, and mentor the coaching staff to carry out the goals and objectives of the programSchedule competitions in consultation with the Athletics administratorsOrganize and administer the recruiting of prospective student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA, Centennial Conference, and Ursinus College policies and proceduresManage all aspects of fundraising, alumni relations, and community outreachResponsibly expend allocated budget and ensure that the budget balances each fiscal yearEngage in regular consultation with athletic training personnel to maximize the safety and wellness of student-athletesImplement appropriate risk management strategies at all timesDemonstrate concern for the overall welfare of student-athletes at all timesWork collaboratively with the Compliance Officer in regards to the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Centennial ConferenceField a team that will be as competitive as possible within the guidelines set by the NCAA, Centennial Conference and Ursinus CollegeWork to ensure the ongoing eligibility of athletes and monitor their academic progressProvide general advising, mentoring and support to student-athletesEngage in ethical decision-making and outstanding sportsmanshipExecute all of these responsibilities as head coach in a manner that reflects an ongoing commitment to the excellence, integrity and success of the Men’s soccer program, of the Department of Athletics, and Ursinus CollegeQualifications:Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred3-5 years head coaching experience preferredKnowledge of rules and techniques of the sportExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational, delegation and planning abilityKnowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulationsExperience with recruiting and fundraisingOther Duties:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position.  They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.Job responsibilities and activities may be modified or changed at any time with or without notice.  Job descriptions will be audited periodically by the Ursinus Human Resources department to ensure they are up-to-date and reflect the essential responsibilities and duties of the job. Application:Interested candidates should hit the apply button.  Once you create an applicant account, you will be prompted to upload your cover letter, resume, and a list with contact information for three references to the applicant database.  Ursinus is an AA/EO employer.  Ursinus College does not discriminate on grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, age, creed, ancestry, veteran status, marital status, disability, or other classification protected by applicable law in the administration of any of its educational programs or activities or with respect to employment.
