The Chaplain offers pastoral care to patients, families, and staff. He/she maintains a professional relationship with hospital personnel. The Chaplain may be required to take call during the evenings, on weekends and holidays and must be available to respond during emergencies. The Chaplain responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

* Visits newly admitted patients and their families to offer support and spiritual assistance 

* Responds to all calls for chaplaincy services including crisis calls, requests for patients and families and referrals from hospital staff 

* Provides spiritual care and support to patients/families and staff as needed and/or requested 

* Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians, nurse case managers and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team 

* Documents the spiritual care provided in the appropriate records Reports to assigned Supervisor, Manager, or Director This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. * Masters Degree of Divinity 

* Board Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (preferred) 

* 4 units of CPE (4 units of CPE preferred, 1 unit of CPE required) 

* Endorsement by a recognized faith community and ordination by a recognized faith community 

* 5 years of experience in pastoral ministry or hospital chaplaincy experience in lieu of educational requirements, except for required CPE training 

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written) IBBHC Only (Includes Miami/Grove): 

* Masters Degree of Divinity 

* Board Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (preferred) 

* 4 units of CPE preferred 

* Endorsement by a recognized faith community and ordination by a recognized faith community 

* 5 years of experience in pastoral ministry or hospital chaplaincy experience in lieu of educational requirements 

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
