Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the timely access and completion of patient documentation through the functions of scanning, indexing, and chart completion. Responsible for patient discharge chart completion, ensuring that all items are accurate, complete and appropriate. Follows specific departmental processes to ensure accuracy and quality of work geared toward positive results for the end user.

Required Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensure : N/A

Experience : One year of experience in a clerical role.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Proficient skills in computer and database applications and ability to learn new software programs. Advanced skills in general office procedures. Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Degree or certification in Medical terminology or Secretarial Science.

Licensure: N/A

Experience: Experience in a Health Information Management role, and/or data entry in a hospital or clinical setting.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Strong knowledge of medical records practices, policies, and procedures including HIPAA. Must have an understanding of clinical workflows and knowledge of medical records. Advanced skills using a computer to perform tasks such as scanning, indexing, and editing medical records.
