QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree or higher, with emphasis on school administration or curriculum and instruction preferred. A valid elementary Michigan teaching certificate and a valid Michigan administrator certificate or the ability to qualify for a Michigan administrator certificate is required. Knowledge of personnel evaluation (Danielson) and fiscal management is required. Experience in implementing new programs and interventions is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with the ability to build a rapport with both students, their families, and staff. Previous administrative experience preferred.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools

JOB GOAL: To create an elementary school environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils and staff to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each individual’s ability.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform as a team member of the district’s administration and staff Lead an elementary school with students in Pre / Kindergarten through the fifth grade. Facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate curriculum and programs Promote effective instruction and learning Communicate with school/community groups Participate in community activities Focus attention on student performance Supervise and evaluate personnel Any other function(s) and/or duties deemed necessary by the Superintendent
