Campus Title Instructional Support Specialist Department Biology Position Summary SUNY Geneseo is seeking applications for an Instructional Support Specialist in the Department of Biology. This Instructional Support Specialist will support the day-to-day operations, including both instruction and faculty research, of the Biology Department as Compliance/Stockroom Manager. They will manage supplies and equipment as well as records for internal controls, compliance with state and federal regulations and College policies. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Biology Department staff and chair on purchasing and budget; managing supplies in a common stockroom; maintaining inventories and essential records; managing equipment including arranging for preventive maintenance and scheduling repairs, and coordinating shared use; and will drive a large capacity van for class field trips as needed. Required Qualifications Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field Ability to work in a variety of work settings, including classroom, laboratory and field work Some lifting of equipment Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to manage and complete work independently Excellent communication skills Possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive working/teaching environment Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in related field Experience keeping essential records Experience with classroom teaching or laboratory work or environmental health and safety License/Certification Other Skills Required Supervision Received The Instructional Support Specialist reports to the Chair of the Biology Department. Supervision Exercised The Instructional Support Specialist supervises student workers.
