Skookum is seeking a reliable and motivated Tractor Trailer Driver with a professional attitude. The Tractor Trailer Driver will provide trucking services which include but are not limited to the operation of tractors and semi-trailers, tractors and full trailers, trucks with dolly converters, and full trailers.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Perform cargo and vehicle delivery as assigned including HAZMAT and oversized loads and in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Perform safe and proper load securement.

Perform monthly preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

Perform pre-trip inspections

Keep vehicles and equipment clean and full of fuel.

Keep accurate trip logs.

Provide clear and accurate communication to customers.

Shall present a neat and clean appearance at all times in accordance with the Skookum Employee Handbook

Perform medium truck driver duties as necessary.

Perform bus driver duties as necessary.

Perform other motor pool functions as required.

Qualifications:

3 years truck driving experience is preferred.

Effective oral and written communication skills required.

Excellent customer service skills required.

Hazmat and Passenger Endorsements Preferred

TWIC preferred.

Forklift certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage under Skookum’s insurance company.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT Drug Screen and obtain or have a Medical Examiner Certificate/DOT Card (Physical) before hire. 

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
