Job Description: Youth and Young Adult Minister

Reports to: Director of Youth Ministry

Hours and Pay: Full-time ( 40 hours/week); Non-Exempt ; $20/hour

Area(s) of Authority: The Youth and Young Adult Minister assists with the vision and coordination of the parish’s efforts in ministry to young people from 6th-12th grades and their parent(s), as well Young Adults 18-35. This includes middle school, high school (youth groups), and young adult (and youth) sessions, social activities, service projects, mission trips, retreats, and outreach.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements :

A college degree is required (preferably in Youth Ministry, Theology, or a related field) and at least one year of youth ministry experience, whether volunteer or paid. Must have a driver’s license with a good driving record.

Essential Duties:

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to planning and leading weekly youth groups, young adult events, small group ministry, retreats, Steubenville of the Rockies, Respect Life events, service projects and mission trips, fundraising, social events, website maintenance, bulletin, social media, video development, and youth and young adult outreach.

Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work. Refrain from public promotion or approval of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the parish, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals

Physical Requirements: Visual acuity both near and far, manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, and speech; ability to sit for extended periods; standing walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting as necessary to perform the duties of the position; ability to lift/move objects of up to 25 pounds in weight.
