Manage the plant’s financial functions (cost, budgeting, general, tax, MIS, etc.) in a way which facilitates the development and support of an integrated plan for control and reporting of operations, protection of company assets, and compliance with Corporate accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Manage and direct all plant activities involving cost accounting and general accounting (payroll, fixed assets, accounts payable, etc.) Manage, develop, and train the plant accounting staff so they can adequately perform their responsibilities. Manage and coordinate management information personnel and activities in conjunction with plant and corporate policies and objectives. Monitor internal control processes as documented in the internal control flow charts. Report any deficiencies or changes to corporate accounting. Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets. Provide plant and corporate management with meaningful cost, variance and forecast information. Develop and maintain in house financial systems and procedures which would facilitate the tracking, control and dissemination to management of financial information necessary to identify and react to potential opportunities and risks. Maintain and update standard product costs as necessary for all items manufactured in the facility. Perform special feasibility, cost and operational studies. Manage and control capital spending projects. Review all plant A/P voucher packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal control requirements. Prepare all new product costs for proposed items and submit to corporate for approval. Input all approved new items into JDE.

Experience, Skills, Education:

A minimum of a BA/BS Degree in Accounting/Finance is required. CMA or MBA preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience including 3 years of supervisory experience is required. Broad financial knowledge base; cost, payroll, A/P, general, fixed assets. Good computer system proficiency; Mainframe, and desktop. Strong budgetary skills (i.e. ABC, zero base). Good interpersonal/supervisory skills. Working knowledge of non-financial disciplines and systems
