Description
Generates waku-waku (excitement) and is part of a collaborative team responsible for implementing Human Resource (HR) initiatives and establishing HR functional excellence. Primary responsibility is to provide general HR support, administer HR programs and policies, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and provide excellent customer service to employees and business leaders. The HR Generalist promotes a positive work culture and recommends effective solutions for addressing workplace issues and corrective actions in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. The HR Generalist also understands the importance of serving as an employee advocate while ensuring business operating needs are met and/or exceeded through a continuous learning and growth culture.
Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as resume & phone screens, candidate interviews, recommend final selection of applicants and close qualified candidates Participate in developing departmental goals and objectives Supports annual goal setting, employee development planning and performance appraisal process Continuously develop networks/partnerships to actively build database/pipeline of candidates. Consult with leaders, hiring managers and human resources team on position descriptions, requisition creation, compensation, and sourcing strategies Create offer letters, maintain applicant tracking system, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions as needed Coordinate/facilitate training programs and plant compliance schedules as assigned Assist with new hire process including onboarding, orientation, Supports Site HR Manager as community liaison and support local schools and charities Coordinate/facilitate training and enter training records into the HRIS system Assists with workforce planning and DEI actions Analyzes and recommends programs to support employee engagement and communications Advocates promoting positive employee relations and engagement through safety and wellness programs, employee appreciation activities and family related events Participates in internal audits and projects that support the human resource needs of continuous improvement approach Provides support and customer service to employees regarding various HR topics, health care and other AFS benefits Support work absence programs including FMLA and Disability Serves as a professional role model within the organization and manages confidential information discreetly. Advises, guides, and provides HR support in the areas of documentation, disciplinary action, policy administration, and improving employee morale. Assists with investigating and gathering documentation for code of ethics hotline and employee complaints. Maintains attendance records and issues warnings/coaching documentation to the managers and supervisors weekly. Maintains the disciplinary log. Assists in all HR reporting and analytics identifying opportunities for improvement. Assists payroll functions as needed. Utilizes the resources available through organizations such as the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) to remain knowledgeable on legal matters to ensure the HR Department remains compliant. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Outstanding customer service, communication skills and influencing abilities. Experience recruiting various levels of positions, both salary, technical and hourly Ability to work with employees and managers at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Highly skilled with HRIS, MS Office, and Payroll System a plus Professional with excellent presentation and facilitation skills Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues Ability to think, act and execute in a timely manner Working knowledge of employment laws and practices including FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, Affirmative Action Plans/EEO, and Worker Compensation Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines The ideal candidate will desire an opportunity to become involved in all aspects of human resource administration
