6:45a-7:15p /Full Time / 36 Hours

Four-week schedules; required to work 2 Mondays, 2 Fridays, and every 3rd or 4th weekend; m ust work a specific holiday package annually (equals three holidays)

The Emory Decatur Respiratory Department is seeking a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner to join their team The highly desired candidate will demonstrate compassion, respectfulness, initiative, team work, and passion for excellence in patient care.

The primary responsibilities of this role are as follows:

Provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Performs routine ventilatory and artificial airway treatments in the critical and general care areas. Assists physicians and performs routine respiratory care activities as necessary. Administers aerolized medications and other respiratory treatments. Performs other related duties as required. Equipment and Supplies: Selects, assembles, and checks respiratory care equipment for proper function, operation, and cleanliness; performs minor repairs to correct malfunctions. Professional Development: Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Reporting/Data Management: Accurately and completely documents respiratory care by following the established charting procedure to show the patient's progress or any changes in the patient's condition. Safety, Security and Health: Practices universal and/or specialized precautions in the daily cleaning and sterilization of work surfaces, equipment, and instruments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) by the state of Georgia. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required. ACLS and/or NRP may be required in designated departments.
