MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate and two (2) years of experience providing service in a special education work experience service program, or similarly related areas Proof of a high school diploma or its equivalent to be submitted with completed application and meet one of the 3 requirements: A) Completion of 2 years of study (48 semester units) at an institution of higher learning, or B) an Associate's Degree or higher, or C) pass a rigorous District-administered assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and math. License and Certificate RequirementPossession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.Current First Aid/CPR Certification Condition of Employment:Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier.

Summary of Duties: The purpose of an Instructional Assistant – Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is to perform paraprofessional instructional activities as directed by a teacher in the Transitional Kindergarten program; perform clerical duties as related to the Transitional Kindergarten program; utilize specialized skills learned in this classification for the care, supervision, and teaching of TK students; and perform related tasks and duties as required under the supervision of the classroom teacher and site administrator.
