Job Description

Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in highway construction projects; perform manual work in preparing equipment or vehicles for use Conduct preventative maintenance as recommended on all equipment Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards Material handling and storage and shop work as assigned Support the daily maintenance of all vehicles (Maintain fluid levels, fuel level and tire pressure) Load and unload trucks; follow proper towing of trailer mounted equipment Deliver material to jobsites Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Notify Supervisor of any issues occur during work shift Required to stand for an extensive period of time (+8 hours) Wear Personal Protective Equipment required by federal, state, customer and company standards during work shift Ability to communicate with customers clearly and in a professional manner

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license 18 years and over Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy / highway construction work Ability to lift, push, pull and carry +50lbs Ability to work in various weather conditions Ability to acquire and maintain DOT physical  Able to pass Drug testing  Able to pass Federal Background Check Basic literacy: Ability to read, write and record routine data and information

Additional Information

WHAT WILL YOU GET:

Starting Rate $16.70 with the opportunity to move up in pay after 1,001 and 2,001 hours along with the opportunity to receive prevailing wage after training. This is a Union Position, Medical and other benefits through the Union.  Advancement within the company. Ability to travel to neighbor islands.  Year-round work with the possibility to make overtime hours including weekend work.  Eligible for 401(k) after 90 days, with company matching.  Paid, on-the-job training: Flagger Training, ATSSA certification, defensive driver training, continued training throughout your career. Rewarded for your hard work and loyalty.
