Based in one of North America locations (Alsip, IL / Morrisville, North Carolina / Greenville, Mississippi or Calgary, Alberta) Nufarm is looking to engage a motivated Operations Accounting Manager in advising the North America Group Controller and Supply Chain organization regarding performance and insights, implementing the standard cost policy and ensuring inventory, production variances and purchase price variances are all accurately being reported, satisfying the information needs of both internal and external customers of the Finance Department, and developing a cost accountant role.
What will you be doing?
Provide guidance and training to Cost Accountant, as well as managing the workload and development. Oversee analysis and balance sheet reconciliations on all operations accounts. Review journal entries and accruals for inclusion in the month-end reporting process Ensure adherence to standard cost policy as well as policies around inventory and variances. Provide assistance and support to the accounting team in the preparation of the financial close. Ensure timely and accurate completion. Other ad hoc duties when required. Follow internal controls and Delegation of Authority as it relates to the business; Ensure integrity of financial reporting & processes. Prepare month end financial reports for local management, including scorecards and forward-looking metrics. Establish, control and analyze product costs & overhead recovery. Preparation of other ad hoc reports as requested. Lead and engage with internal auditors. Prepare year-end working papers and supporting financial and accounting information for year-end external audit. Liaise with external auditors in reviewing areas of responsibility. Perform reviews of the analysis and interpretation of accounting information performed by Cost Accountant. Provide insights regarding financial performance, including overall COGS and supply chain expense analysis to the business leaders. Support monthly Financial Forecast and preparation of supporting disclosure schedules. Assist the NA Group Controller and Business Partners in the preparation and consolidation of the annual and 3-year budgets. Perform on-going analysis of business processes and practices, leading to recommendations for changes & improvements that enhance the business performance of the organization.What do you bring?
Nufarm is looking for an Operations Accounting Manager with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience & 5 years of experience as a cost accountant with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. The ideal candidate will have a CPA or CMA; MBA and excellent system skills (Oracle EBS, Business Objects – or equivalent).
