for Financial Services Reconciliations Team SpecialistSummary:We are looking for a Reconciliation Team Specialist to work in daily and monthly reconciliation operations on behalf of insurance carrier clients’ back-offices.Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and manual journal entries. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude.Ultimately, you should be able to ensure financial reconciliations are accurate and effective.Responsibilities:Use advanced reconciliation process knowledge to solve difficult situations that vary in detail, system used, or functional area impacted.Possesses the ability to assume any reconciliation or problem within the team and provide resolution.Oversee daily transactions, including client ledger and bank reconciliations.Participate in regular and ad-hoc audit requests.Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and manual journal entries.Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records.Follow team policies and procedures.Perform assigned reconciliation functions such as verification of credits and debits, identify and research account out of balance differences. Resolve out of balance conditions within established guidelines and carrier client protocols.Work with appropriate areas of the firm and outside partnerships (i.e. banks and carrier clients).Analyzes output from different data sources, including global operational accounts, on a routine basis. Maintain ongoing client compliance.Provide support to other team members on reconciliations and ad-hoc queries.Provide assistance to other teams as and when required.Ensure all deadlines are met.Carry out duties in accordance with Infosys McCamish Systems quality policy, safety principles, corporate values, Code of Conduct and strategies.Be able to fully access Internet VPN through home computer for business continuity purposes, when necessary.Carry out any other duties as required to be assigned.Qualifications: A college degree is required. Coursework in business, finance, and/or accounting is preferred. Accounting certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus, but not required.Requires minimum of 3 years as a Reconciliation Specialist or equivalent industry experience. 5 or more years’ experience is preferred.Experience with accounting software is helpfulRequires a thorough understanding of systems and sources of input and/or a proven ability to quickly understand new systems and inputs. Functional knowledge includes:Typing and 10-keyStrong math skillsStrong spreadsheet skillsAn advanced understanding of debits/creditsAn ability to maintain positive working relationships inside and outside the departmentMust be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writingMust be able to compare and balance figures, work with computer generated reports, be organized, be able to multi-task, and be detail orientedMust possess a comprehensive understanding of the reconciliation process, including data/inputs and the impact on other departments and reconciliationsStrong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets and using advanced formulas)Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Insurance suspense accounting is preferredExcellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of dataAttention to detail and accuracyTeam management skillsAbility to prioritize workNote: Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa (H1B or otherwise).The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time.
