Patient Access Representative Lead, Specialty Orthopedic, Port Arthur

Summary:
The areas of management are typically grouped into 24 hour operations (ER and Room Control, outpatient decentralized registration areas (OPP, Park Med Lab, etc) and Main Admitting operations (Scheduling, Financial Clearance and Financial Counseling, etc). The Patient Access Lead must be familiar with and able to step in as a leader for the operational and the functional areas of the department. This position will be responsible for coordination of the activities of these areas and with other departments. This position will be responsible for aiding in the development of policies and procedures of the Business Services Department.
Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
• High school diploma preferred; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Patient Access Rep III within one (1) year.
• Thirty-five (35) wpm typing preferred along with the following leadership skills: team building, ability to conduct employee education, redesigns, and have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Management reporting and documentation requires thorough knowledge of computer applications with emphasis on Microsoft. Working knowledge of Meditech preferred.
B. Experience
• In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience.
• Three (3) years previously demonstrated ability to utilize skills listed below. It is preferred that the candidate have an intimate knowledge of budgeting, financial counseling, registration, quality control and employee education.
• Candidate should have knowledge of third party carrier regulations, including managed care and worker’s compensation
