Environmental Engineering Staff Consultant - Elko, NV/Hybrid,

SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.

We are seeking a Environmental Engineering Staff Consultant .

Description of Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively within a team of technical specialists to develop innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions for a diverse set of global projects and clients.  

Consult on projects primarily in Nevada, but support projects in North America and with international clients.  

Conduct work primarily related to the mining industry, specifically mine permitting, reclamation and environmental aspects.  

Occasional travel and field work.  

Conduct general civil engineering tasks to support permitting documents and assist with design work related to civil engineering.  

Assist senior staff with calculations and preliminary designs.  

Perform hydraulic and hydrological analyses for stormwater management and engineering design support or be willing to learn.  

Assist senior staff with field data review and field data interpretation .  

Assist with the preparation of technical and management reports .  

Assist with the preparation of project cost estimations .  

Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D, as well as any of the Microsoft Office Suite programs .  

Support projects in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and elsewhere as needed .  

Other duties as assigned .  

Essential Requirements:

An undergraduate degree in the physical sciences (e.g., Geology or Environmental Science) or engineering (e.g., Environmental, Mining, Civil or Geological);  

Familiarity with mining support earthworks facilities (tailings, leach piles, waste rock dumps, ponds, diversion channels), a plus;  

Basic knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics calculations, or willingness to learn;  

Excellent analytical, organization and problem-solving skills;  

Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with appropriate supervision and mentoring;  

Strong inter-personal communication and writing skills; and  

Working knowledge of civil engineering software and Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
